Tumblr
Tumblr, stylized as tumblr and pronounced "tumbler," is an American microblogging and social networking website founded by David Karp in 2007. Currently owned by Automattic, Tumblr allows users to post multimedia and other content to a short-form blog format. Users can follow other users' blogs and interact with content through likes, reblogs, and comments. Additionally, bloggers have the option to make their blogs private for more controlled access. Many of Tumblr's features are accessible through a "dashboard" interface, providing users with a centralized hub for managing their blog activity. As of August 12, 2019, Tumblr hosts over 475 million blogs. Despite its initial popularity, the website experienced a decline in monthly visitors, dropping from over 500 million in January 2016 to less than 400 million by August 2019.
