In 2012, Qihoo 360 launched the search engine so.com, entering direct competition with Baidu, China's leading search engine. Qihoo's market share rose to 10.52% of China's total search engine market. By late July 2013, Qihoo began discussions to acquire Sohu.com's Sogou.com search engine for approximately $1.4 billion. In early 2015, Qihoo rebranded its so.com search engine as haosou.com. "Hao" in Chinese translates to "good," hence "Haosou" means "good search engine" in English.
