NPR
National Public Radio (NPR) is an American media organization, both privately and publicly funded, known for its non-profit status. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., NPR operates under a unique model established by an act of Congress. Many of its member stations are owned by government entities, primarily public universities. NPR serves as a syndicator to a network of over 1,000 public radio stations across the United States, producing and distributing news and cultural programming. Its flagship shows include Morning Edition and All Things Considered, which are among the most popular radio programs in the country. NPR manages the Public Radio Satellite System, distributing its programs and content from other producers and networks like American Public Media and Public Radio International. Its content is available online, on mobile networks, and through podcasts.
